Medical Professionals

The NVA has made considerable progress in recent years and has expanded the services we offer to the medical community. NVA medical professional donors receive all of the following services:

This newsletter keeps the medical community up-to-date on current research pertaining to chronic vulvar pain disorders. It is sent via e-mail on a quarterly basis and contains abstracts and references to current research published in medical journals or presented at scientific meetings. Please contact Chris Veasley if you are interested in placing your name on the listserve to receive these updates.

CME/CE Accredited Online Tutorial
In October 2007, the NVA launched a CME/CE accredited online tutorial for healthcare professionals titled, Vulvodynia: Integrating Current Knowledge into Clinical Practice .  This program, jointly sponsored by the NVA and the Dannemiller Memorial Educational Foundation, includes a self-guided presentation on the prevalence, differential diagnosis, treatment and etiology of vulvodynia.  To access the tutorial, please visit http://learn.nva.org .

NVA News
The NVA newsletter, published three times per year, contains articles written by medical experts on the diagnosis and treatment of vulvovaginal disorders. Medical professionals who join the NVA will immediately receive ten back issues of the newsletter. You can view a list of these issues and subscribe online .

Patient Self-Help Guide
This comprehensive guide provides an overview of vulvodynia from both gynecological and chronic pain perspectives. In addition to focusing on the treatment of vulvodynia, the guide features self-help tips and coping strategies for vulvodynia patients, as well as information on general gynecological health.  A complete table of contents can be viewed here. To view a sample or to place an order, please contact Gigi at gigi@nva.org or 301-949-5114.
