The NIH recently announced a new opportunity for vulvodynia research funding. This announcement encourages new research applications in the exploration of etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and therapeutics in the field of vulvodynia. Applications utilizing multidisciplinary approaches and interdisciplinary investigative teams are of particular interest to advance this research agenda.
The NIH is seeking collaborative, multidisciplinary projects which will foster novel approaches and avenues of research to expand the field of vulvodynia research. The inclusion of new investigators and new partnerships is encouraged in order to broaden the expertise applied to this challenging clinical problem. As current understanding is limited, applications are sought in a wide array of topics. Proposed studies may be clinical, translational and/or basic science in nature.
